Story: Fresh air, space, and a family with other kids is Adam's wish, and maybe even a farm or ranch! This teen loves being outside and enjoying all the outdoors he can handle. Taking his bicycle out for the day, eating tasty treats (especially sweets), or playing with animals occupies his time. Attending eighth grade (as of October 2009) in a self-contained classroom, Adam enjoys the relationships he has with his friends and adults. He benefits from speech therapy, as well as counseling, which will need to continue after placement. There are siblings with whom he remains in contact. His caseworker prefers a two-parent family who is willing to participate in a transitional plan prior to placement; however, all family types will be considered. Financial assistance may be available for adoption-related services. For New Mexico children, both homestudied and non-homestudied New Mexico families are encouraged to inquire; only homestudied families from other states should do so.
