The State of New Mexico’s Children, Youth, and Families Department seeks a highly experienced individual to lead its child welfare department as its Director of Protective Services.  The person who fills this position will have a direct impact on the safety and well-being of children and families involved in the child welfare system in New Mexico.

We are looking for someone committed to reform, data driven processes, and close collaboration with youth with lived experience.  The department is working to implement evidence-based programs with a focus on rebuilding New Mexico’s access to community based mental health services for children, implementing new initiatives like extended foster care, and continuing to improve as a youth-centered, trauma responsive system.

A history of collaboration with nonprofit organizations, public-private partnerships, and other non-governmental juvenile programs is a definite plus.
