CYFD Honors Five with Employee-of-the-Month Awards
SANTA FE -- New Mexico’s Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) and Cabinet Secretary Dorian Dodson have announced five recipients of Employee of the Month honors for their outstanding performances.
Lisa Roybal is the honoree in Protective Services (PS) for the month of September. An adoptions records coordinator , Roybal is recognized for going above and beyond by assisting the Foster Care and Adoptions Bureau as well as other related programs including the administrative unit, FACTS unit, private adoption agencies and special projects for CYFD.
The department’s Juvenile Justice Services (JJS) honored four employees as Employees of the Month for August.
Susan Garcia is an HR administrator in the JJS Director’s Office. She is noted for her diligence and promptness in making sure employees’ timesheets are approved and accurate, for going above and beyond in processing FMLA documents, and for her pleasant attitude and helpfulness.
Miya Hoshijo, a classification officer at the J. Paul Taylor Center in Las Cruces, is recognized for her dedication to the clients of the JJS facility and for putting forth extra effort on their behalf. She has volunteered time and money in arranging fundraisers, supporting basketball tournaments and providing hygienic items that the clients may need.
Lena Mares serves as both the school counselor and registrar at the Youth Diagnostic and Development Center’s (YDDC) Foothill High School in Albuquerque. Her passion for her job is evidenced by working extra hours to ensure that students are scheduled properly into classes and are counseled on both academic and behavioral issues.
Jessica Padilla, an administrator at YDDC, has been singled out due to her dedication, accuracy and extraordinary efforts on behalf of JJS’s Employee Support Services and Facilities HR Bureau. She took the lead on the many steps required to hire facility Youth Care Specialists (YCS) for four JJS facilities while maintaining a high level of service and commitment to continued excellence. She was also instrumental in preparing and initiating changes in the Share system for new YCS employees.
