Employees of the Month, Quarter Honored by CYFD
SANTA FE – Fifteen employees of Children, Youth and Families Department have been selected for their exemplary performance as the New Mexico state agency unveiled the recipients of its employee recognition awards this week.
Headlining the group are the two workers honored as the Department-wide Employees of the Quarter, Jeannie Cordova and Stephen Suazo.
Cordova, a youth care specialist at the Youth Diagnostic and Development Center (YDDC) in Albuquerque, is the recipient for the third quarter of 2009. She is noted for her successful work with some of the most difficult clients in Juvenile Justice Services (JJS), her outstanding work ethic and consistency in excellence, and her performance of additional duties including training.
Suazo, CYFD’s Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2009, serves as a child care eligibility interviewer for the Department’s Early Childhood Services (ECS) division in Albuquerque. He is commended for his caring and encouraging attitude, teamwork and dedication, as well as his efforts in taking on new projects and helping to streamline office procedures.
ECS also has announced the recipients of its Employee of the Month award. Receiving the honor are Patricia Steward (for March 2010), a child care regional manager in Albuquerque; Nina Johnson (April), a child care program manager in Rio Rancho; and Janet Alvarado (May), a child development program manager in Las Cruces.
Receiving the Employee of the Month award for JJS in March are Anthony Delgado, a youth care specialist at J. Paul Taylor Center in Las Cruces; Robert Nieto, a youth care specialist manager at Albuquerque’s Camino Nuevo; Teresa Sanchez, a JJS facilities FACTS analyst in Albuquerque; and John Sepulveda, a youth care specialist at Camino Nuevo.
JJS’s April honorees are Cynthia Hood, a secretary at YDDC; Brenda Rabinowitz, a special education coordinator at YDDC’s Foothill High; and Tamara Ward, a classification supervisor in Albuquerque.
Protective Services’ Employees of the Month are Milissa Soto (March), a policy and procedures coordinator based in Santa Fe; Kasandra Gandara (April), a county office manager in Las Cruces; and Debbie Orona (May), an investigations supervisor in Las Cruces.
