NM Awarded Grant to Help Enforce Underage Drinking Laws
SANTA FE -- U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman’s office announced in a press release to the Albuquerque Journal on July 10, 2009, that New Mexico has been awarded a $360,000 federal grant to help enforce underage drinking laws (EUDL) in the state.
CYFD’s Youth and Family Services manages the EUDL program that currently serves 11 urban and rural regions statewide. CYFD is receiving an award for the New Mexico EUDL rural initiatives program at the National EUDL Leadership Conference in August.
New Mexico was the only state in the nation to complete the EUDL rural initiatives program grant in the required three-year period. Two of the three original rural programs have continued to sustain their initiatives.
