CYFD and HSD Hosting Joint Job Fair

State Looking to Fill Critical Social Worker Job Vacancies

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) and the New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) will hold a joint job fair in Santa Fe on August 12, 2014. There are about 200 positions open between the two cabinet agencies with various jobs located throughout the state.

Job seekers with experience in social services are encouraged to attend. In addition, those with degrees in social work, sociology, education, family studies, criminal justice, counseling, psychology or any other social services field of study are also encouraged to attend the job fair.

“Becoming a social worker with CYFD is an excellent opportunity to help New Mexico children and families,” said CYFD Cabinet Secretary Yolanda Deines.  “We are dedicated to training and developing our employees to ensure that they have all the tools necessary to be successful in their career.”

“The jobs that we have open at HSD are important in serving those New Mexicans most in need,” said HSD Secretary Sidonie Squier. “We strongly encourage individuals to attend this job fair and to seek out a rewarding career with the State.”

State personnel will be on hand to provide one-on-one job consultation, application review and assistance in completing the online application process.
