Monique Jacobson Confirmed as CYFD Cabinet Secretary

SANTA FE -- The New Mexico State Senate today confirmed Monique Jacobson as the Cabinet Secretary for the Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD).

“It is an absolute honor to have the opportunity to serve New Mexico’s children, youth, and families as Cabinet Secretary of this very important agency,” said CYFD Cabinet Secretary Monique Jacobson. “I will continue to work with and listen to all CYFD staff and provide them with sufficient tools and an environment where they can use their training and experience to improve the quality of life for all of our children.”

A New Mexico native, CYFD Secretary Monique Jacobson brings a strong background of metrics-based, results-driven managerial experience to CYFD, including leadership roles at several major U.S. corporations. During her leadership of the Tourism Department, Secretary Jacobson designed and implemented the successful “New Mexico True” campaign, which has contributed to three straight years of substantial growth in tourism in New Mexico. Through Secretary Jacobson’s efforts, visitor spending in New Mexico has grown more than 24% since 2010. She holds a bachelor of science in economics from the prestigious Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
