YDDC Students’ Mural Installed at PERA Building

SANTA FE -- CYFD is proud to announce the recent permanent installation of an Aztec calendar mural, designed and painted over a two and one-half year period by students at the Youth Diagnostic and Development Center's (YDDC) Foothill High School in Albuquerque.

Hand-picked by art teachers Lin Johnson (a Golden Apple Teacher) and Stacie Pope-Hein, these students created the mural over the course of thirty months, one class period per day, for the duration of their stay at YDDC, with individuals spending anywhere from three months to over a year on the project.

The mural, entitled "The Aztec Sunstone" and split by design into three 4'x8' panels, is now on display in the fifth floor lobby of the original PERA Building, located at 1120 Paseo De Peralta in Santa Fe. The mural is available for viewing by the public weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
